Jessica and Josh are a Hamilton-based couple who love craft beer. Though they’ll travel anywhere to get the good local craft, they’re quite devoted to the Ontario beer scene.
In addition to blogging, they have also helped coordinate beer festivals with I Heart Beer, and organized other beer events such as a food & beer pairing walking tour. Keenly interested in all aspects of beer, they’re working on their Prud’homme certification and are both currently Level 1, Certified Beer Enthusiasts.
Jessica is a health researcher/social worker by trade, and also writes novels, grows vegetables, and crafts things in her spare time. Josh is a computer programmer for a local non-profit with a keen interest in politics, both local and international, and a constant drive to learn the newest and greatest cooking techniques.
In terms of favourite beers, Jessica and Josh have a shared love for dark, smoky, and sour. Shared favourites have included: Belwoods Motley Cru 2016, Black Oak’s Nox Aeterna, and The Exchange & Oud Bruin. Jessica also loves ultra malty or fruity/herby beers, such as Side Launch Dark Lager, Neustadt Springs 10w30, Belwoods Plum Jelly King, and Great Lakes Grimace’s Tears. Josh leans further to the dark or barrel-aged brews such as Nickel Brook’s Kentucky Bastard, Mill Street’s Cobblestone Stout, and Forked River’s Weendigo Imperial Stout.
