Jessica and Josh are a Hamilton couple who are in love with craft beer. . . and each other.
Jessica and Josh will travel almost anywhere to try new beer (and anywhere they travel, they end up trying the local beer), but they have a special place in their hearts for Ontario craft. They have a shared love for dark beers, smokey beers, and sours. Neither are huge fans of ultra-hoppy styles. Shared favourites include: Belwoods Brewery’s Motley Cru (2016), Black Oak’s Nox Aeterna, and The Exchange Brewery’s &Oud Bruin.
Jessica is a health researcher/social worker by trade, and also writes novels, grows vegetables, and makes things in her spare time. In addition to shared favourites, she likes malty smooth beers and those with fruit or herb additions. Some personal favourites include Side Launch Dark Lager, Beau’s MaddAddamites NooBroo (gruit), and Belwoods Brewery’s Plum Jelly King.
Josh is a computer programmer for a local non-profit with a keen interest in politics, both local and international, and a constant drive to learn the newest and greatest cooking techniques. He has a special love for strong and/or barrel-aged beers, and never turns down a good stout, so his personal favourites include Nickel Brook’s Kentucky Bastard, Mill Street’s Cobblestone Stout, and Forked River’s Weendigo Imperial Stout.
Beyond the blog, Jessica and Josh also might be found organizing beer festivals or running brewery tours with I Heart Beer.
